Our structure

Our staff

As an employer, The Place2Be is committed to encouraging staff to grow and develop their skills within the organisation. We currently employ 211 members of staff across the organisation:

6 Regional/National Managers – 5 of whom were once Hub Managers and 3 were once School Project Managers

17 Hub Managers and 1 Deputy Hub Manager – 9 of whom were once School Project Managers and 4 were once Place2Be Volunteer Counsellors

8 Parent Workers – 3 of whom were once School Project Managers and 2 were once Place2Be Volunteer Counsellors

130 School Project Managers – 60 of whom were once Place2Be Volunteer Counsellors

4 Transition Project Managers - 2 of whom were once Place2Be Volunteer Counsellors

1 Assistant School Project Manager – who was previously a Place2Be Volunteer Counsellor

and 44 members of staff based at Core Hub supporting Service delivery and Development, Research and Evaluation, Human Resources, Counsellor recruitment, Finance and Funding, Communications, and Training.

We have more than than 620 Volunteer Place2Be Counsellors in Place2Be schools across the UK. Our commitment to professional development has, to date, enabled 101 former volunteers to move into paid positions within The Place2Be.

Our leadership team

Our Leadership Team comprises Chief Executive, Benita Refson OBE; Chief Operating Officer, Catherine Roche; Clinical Advisor, Peter Wilson; Head of Finance, Howard Long, Head of Fundraising, Jennie Meadows, and HR consultant Ros Barker.

Professional Advisory Panel

Our Leadership Team and Board of Trustees are supported by a panel of Professional Advisors, all of whom share with us their relevant clinical and professional expertise. Our current advisors are Malcolm Ablett, Karen Baistow, John Coleman, Sandra Davis, Merrick Denton-Thompson, David Elliott, Sam Evans, John Guest, Dr. Peter Harvey, Lord Michael Hastings, John Ivens, Sue Kegerreis, Kate Knowles, Adrian Levy, Polly Moore, Ray Morris, George Oakham, Stephen O'Brien, Martin Pexton, Dr Ann Phoenix, Campbell Robb, Joe Royle, Mike Stepan and Lawrie Rose.
